I asked A., the Portuguese husband of my colleague EO. He said it meant ‘damn’. Another Protuguese colleague thought it didn’t have a specific meaning. This got me wondering: Can we trust it to be a Portuguese gesture? Figo played in other countries and together with people from even more different countries. He could’ve picked it up anywhere.
